The Nickel Plate Trail is a vibrant pathway in Fishers, Indiana, transforming a former rail corridor into a hub for outdoor recreation, art, and community engagement. Stretching through the heart of the city, the trail connects neighborhoods, parks, and businesses, inviting residents and visitors alike to explore and engage.

The approach
The branding for the Nickel Plate Trail centered on capturing its dynamic and welcoming spirit. A vibrant color palette and bold typography conveyed energy and movement, reflecting the trail’s role as a community connector. Custom illustrations and iconography brought the trail’s unique features to life, from its art installations to its lush green spaces. Every design element worked together to emphasize accessibility, creativity, and the sense of discovery the trail inspires.
Wayfinding and signage
To enhance the user experience, signage was created to promote safety with clear instructions for street crossings, rules, and trail etiquette, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for all users.
